I looked at the person next to me and rather than paying attention to the teacher was playing with the help file for regional preferences. As it turns out she was frustrated by the settings on the computer as well but instead of wanting the american style keyboard she was busy switching hers to a Dvorak Norwegian keyboard. So I figured out where she was changing things and switched my keyboard back to the US keyboard. But now I have no idea how to make my example pre-loader work.
